Thanks For A GREAT Time!

We just wanted to officially thank everyone for making this the best Great Mother's Day Race yet! We had such a great time and couldn't help but feel warm and fuzzy from all the smiling faces. We wouldn't have been able to do any of this without all of you! The photos of the pre/race and finish line will be up shortly so look out for those. Also, information about the t-shirts will be emailed to you as the information comes in.

Online Registration Closed

Sorry, we had to shut down Online registration to make sure that everyone who signed up until today at 11:15pm will get a shirt on race day.

If you choose to register on Sunday, May 12, at Al Lopez Park, you will not receive a shirt on race day because we ran out due to demand. However, we will definitely get more shirts made and you will receive one promptly after the race.

Race day sign-ups will still be chip timed and have the same GREAT experience, so I still encourage you to come out.

Important Information About the Great Mother's Day Race

We’re looking forward to the 5k race this weekend, and we hope you are too! This email is meant to give you information for race day preparation. We want to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible for you!

Packet pick-up/Registration: (Includes shirt, race bib, and other goodies)

Choose one

· Saturday 5/11 (We would strongly recommend this option, as it will be more convenient and quicker for you on race day!)

o  Location: Fit2Run (shoe store) at International Plaza

o  Time: 12p-4p

OR

· Sunday (Race Day)

o  Time: 8a

o  Location: Al Lopez Park, Shelter 315

Race Details:

· Day: Sunday, May 12

· Location: Al Lopez Park

· 4810 North Himes Avenue, Tampa, FL

o  Off Himes and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Tampa

o  Shelter 315

· Packet pick-up/Registration: 8a

· Race Start: 9a

Chip Timing:

·This year we’ll have chip timing—the chip will attach to your shoe with a tie. We will hand the chip out before the race. Don’t worry; we’ll have volunteers there to show you how it’s done!

·Note, right after you finish the race, a volunteer will cut the tie and remove the chip from your shoe. The chip is a rental and belongs to a Racing company. Please do not keep the chip.

Race Map: (attached)

·Parking: Go through the main entrance and go straight to the back parking lot, which is by the RED “Start” label on the attached map and next to the “Fenced Leash-Free Area.”

· Course:

oMile 1: Red marker (half of the large loop of the park)

oMile 1 to 2: Red to Blue marker

oMile 2 to 3: Blue marker (**Note, loop of the inside track)
